Pens for Marking Upon

Brick / Stone

What are the properties of brick and stone that we need to consider when choosing a marker?

  • Dusty
  • Rough
  • Unstable surface
  • Porous surface

Why aren't we recommending our rolling ball point markers for this purpose?

Because of the rough and dusty surface of Brick and Stone, we do not recommend the metal rolling ball tip since the surface and dust can interfere with the ball mechanism. We do not recommend felt nibs since they will wear down too fast. We offer replacement nibs but it is our opinion it isn’t worth it.

What do we recommend?

What we recommend for Brick and Stone are Solidified paint markers such as Sakura Solid Markers. These crayons are made from solidified paint in a lipstick like barrel. They are perfect for concrete. The mark will withstand the test of time and the elements and remain visible indefinitely.
